Your model bipolar

During my seventh hospitalization for bipolar disorder - 18 years after he cracked a student of psychology - I finally wrote a plan to keep me out of the madhouse. Here are some steps that you can write your own plan to stop a downward spiral bipolar.

1 Identify the pattern of thoughts, feelings and behavior, culminating in a bipolar episode.

We all have our own model. My start with the interpretation of an event frustrating to me as followsa problem and then to exaggerate his more serious than it is. The model ends with me told me that I am a complete failure, become depressed, hopeless, and the reaction of anger to despair. If you recognize the pattern, you can stop. But first you need to know what is the model.

2 Write your model.

This will give you a clear idea of your concrete, and patterns and helprecognize them as soon as it begins.

3 Note the time they were able to prevent or stop the pattern.

Recognizing that the potential of bipolar episodes in the past (probably many times) to avoid will help you to avoid in the future. This is a skill you probably already used unknowingly. You may have bipolar disorder, but there are many times when your mood, thoughts and behaviors are normal. And sometimes, you haverespond very well to stress. What you have in these moments that you avoid making a successful merger enabled bipolar?

4 Remember that you have some control over the model.

The chemical imbalance can affect the bipolar vigorously with our moods, but we can still conscious, deliberate decisions on our thoughts and behaviors. You can literally force you to think of new ideas and change your focus. When I once owned and unproductive thinkingsomething that may (or may not) have been a problem, a friend suggested that I need to do a crossword puzzle. I was desperate, so, despite my doubts, I gave it a try. It worked. I felt possessed - at least while I was doing the puzzle.

5 Make a list of thoughts and behaviors to use to get your bipolar model to replace the thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

If I see that my model could begin, I have a number of alternative ideas andA behavior that contradict me stop, and stop the pattern. These include: my memory of past successes, exercise, positive self-talk, a walk, I take away from stressful situations, praising God in spite of my situation, call the My counselor, said the promises of Scripture. (Shout out loud with a fist in the air: "Yes, the creator-king of the universe is my father and he is now working on my best ever!" Romans 8:28)

It 'should writethe list. Once the bipolar model of thinking / feeling / action begins can be difficult, the good ideas you had when you were a little 'more healthy to use again. Keep the list handy and pull it out when the pattern begins.

6 Provide a copy of the plan for your family and / or consultants.

In the midst of a bipolar episode, these people can whip out their copy and remind you of your own good advice. Nothing less than Seroquel distorted thinking stops rightdeal with your own words.

Your plan should not be at all like mine. But make a plan! Be exposed to the next potential downward spiral. You can go out! Make a plan.
